New York City Fireboat Ship Models

Very detailed ship model over 25" long.
1/87 HO Scale --- Kit# - T149
 GONE

-   The alarm sounds...one of the big oil tankers is ablaze in the harbor. The fire must be stopped before it spreads and the ship explodes! The Firefighter's crew is alerted. Within minutes, the boat is on the scene as her crew sizes up the situation. The bow gun goes to work, throwing 40 tons of water per minute a distance of 375 feet! Quickly, the large tower is raised 55 feet above the deck and starts pumping. In the meantime, the pumps are busy feeding the other "guns" at a rate of 20,000 gallons of water per minute. Soon the fire is under control and the crew can relax. Once again, the Firefighter comes to the rescue.

Features: Two fire hoses, seven deck-nozzle guns and three hose reels, five crew figures, New York Fire Department decals. Skill Level 2

This is a great model of the "Fighter"when she was in her heyday with
the aft water tower still intact. I don't know if you are aware,
but this boat just went through an extensive rehabilitation in
Cadell's Shipyard in Staten Island. I have been told that she can
now do 15 knots (the same as she did in 38 when she was launched).
The pumps are also in the process of being overhauled, hopefully we will
have the "Fighter" out in Marine 9 for many years to come.
 (as she looked in 2001)
