US NAVY PATROL CRAFT ESCORT - RADIO CONTROLLED MODEL BOAT KIT

The USS Whitehall was commissioned in 1944 and was named after the town of Whitehall, NY, the birthplace
 of the US Navy. She served along the east coast and then was sent to the South Seas where she did anti-submarine duty.

There are some parts you may have to scratchbuild.

This kit features a 2 piece vacuum formed hull, expanded pvc die cuts and laser cut balsa and birch plywood parts.
Step by step instructions, name and number decals round out this Navy support ship kit. Designed for radio control.
For use with electric motor. The model is 23 inches long with a 4 inch beam.
Radio control unit and running hardware must be purchased separately $45.00. #2369
Paint and glue are required for assembly but not included. This is a wooden kit.

PCE(R)-848 Class Patrol Craft Escort (Rescue): Laid down, 17 December 1943 at Pullman Standard Car Manufacturing Co., Chicago, Ill; Launched, 21 April 1944; Commissioned USS PCE(R)-856, 11 November 1944; Decommissioned 23 June 1946 at Norfolk, VA; Recommissioned, 18 November 1950; Named Whitehall, 15 February 1956; Reclassified as a Patrol Craft Escort, PCE-856, 15 March 1962; Decommissioned, 1 July 1970 at Philadelphia, PA and struck from the Naval Register; Reportedly sold for scrap, 17 May 1973 to the R. W. Denny Corp. of Montvale, NJ, but in fact sold in 1970 to Eastern Seaboard Pile-Driving, Montvale and renamed Donna Marie; Converted to a tug in 1974; Sold in 1980 to Standard Products Co. Inc. of Reedsville, VA and renamed Atlantic Surf; Sold to Omega Protein Inc. of Hammond, LA and renamed Atlantic Shore. Fate unknown.
